Quality Assurance Manager

ABOUT US:

PMA Industries is a leading manufacturer in the US providing quality steel dies since 1982. PMA has been a manufacturer of products using high-grade metals, servicing a wide array of customers including aerospace and equipment manufacturers, arts and crafts businesses, designers, architects and builders, sign companies, logistical partners, and more.

Today we are the largest chemical metal etching company in North America providing products and services both domestically and internationally. We currently have multiple divisions covering the following core areas: etched metal cutting dies and craft-related tools and supplies for crafts and creative industries (paper crafts, mixed media arts, DIY home, sewing, quilting, and soft arts), private label arts and crafts products, commercial signage, and aerospace and equipment specialized parts and plates.

Responsibilities:

Provide support for maintaining the AS9100 certification, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Oversee a team of 2 to 5 quality assurance inspectors.

Assist in performing inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Verify product quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with industry standards.

Generate Certificates of Conformance and other relevant documentation.

Recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce scrap.

Lead internal audit teams within the organization.

Assist with supplier and customer audits.

Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality expectations.

Troubleshoot any quality-related issues during manufacturing processes.

SKILLS:

Demonstrated expertise in AS9100 quality management system standards, ensuring compliance with industry requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
  • Assist laminators, sanders, clippers or packagers other tradespeople on-site
  • Handle and transport materials and equipment
  • Use power tools and machinery when needed
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks
  • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

Requirements:

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)

CNC Laser Operator Job Description

We currently have multiple divisions covering the following core areas: etched metal parts and craft related tools and supplies for crafts and creative industries (paper crafts, mixed media arts, DIY home, sewing, quilting and soft arts), private label arts and crafts products, commercial signage, and aerospace and equipment specialized parts and plates.

Our companies/brands are: Photometals, Dies Direct, Maker’s Movement, Crafter’s Edge, and Cheery Lynn Designs.

PMA is currently in need of a highly motivated CNC Laser Operator to assist with continued growth in its commercial division, Photometals.  This is a key position on our team and an opportunity to grow and excel – and providing excellent career growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an existing laser operator to take their skills to the next level.

Duties and Responsibilities

Must be familiar, comfortable, and experienced with laser operations using oxygen and nitrogen.

Produce metal parts to customer specifications using laser equipment (Amada, Boss, others).  Required to set and program laser equipment for specific custom jobs.  Experience working with a variety of computer file types would be helpful.

Experience operating sabre/router equipment for metal preparation, working and finishing.  Additional experience in using hand and powered sanders, shears, and other related metalworking/metal finishing operations is helpful.

Other shop duties, as required.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma.
  • Ability to read and write English, and perform basic math.
  • Self-driven individual with ability and desire for multi-tasking and operating in high-energy environment.
  • Must take direction and be able to work without close supervision.

Job Description:

We have a dynamic, exciting, and team-oriented work environment and are currently seeking an Etch Specialist.  PMA Industries is a leader in the photochemical machining industry and this position affords a tremendous opportunity for someone with a  background or interest in metal etching processing.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the skills or ability to operate a process line and batch operation for metallic parts/assemblies through the chemical etch process using a variety of metals for products in the aerospace, medical and other commercial industries. 

Compensation:

DOE, plus a competitive benefits package. 

Responsibilities:

  • Know and follow safe operating procedures.
  • Review written work orders and follow specified drawings and work orders and process specifications to determine method of etch procedure.
  • Understand appropriate sequence of events and best method to achieve desired results including determining rates of etch, immersion time and appropriate material handling.
  • Other shop duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One-year experience working in metal fabrication
  • Read blueprints and work orders, ability to appropriately record actions on a work order
  • Ability to read and use calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to work efficiently without supervision
  • Must speak, read, and write English
